The Ivy League twin over full loft offers a wonderful combination of classic charm and space saving design. One side of the twin loft has a storage chest with five bevel edged drawers with brushed steel pulls and adjustable shelves behind a single door; the other side has a built-in ladder. A full loft on casters is tucked underneath. All components are crafted of wood solids and veneers with a chocolate-cherry finish.

What's a Bunkie Board?

What is a bunkie board?

A bunkie board is the foundation for a bunk bed or a captain's bed mattress. It serves the same function as a boxspring on a standard bed. It is a platform that fits within the bed frame to support the mattress. Most bunk beds and captain's beds require bunkie boards to support the mattress.

If the bunkie board is required for the bed then why is it an optional purchase?

The bunkie board is optional because some customers may already own one from a previous bed. It is not necessary to purchase a new bunkie board with every new bed.

What about sleigh beds, poster beds or other bed styles?

These bed styles do not generally require the use of a bunkie board. If you are planning to add a trundle bed or under the bed storage drawers, you will need a bunkie board instead of a boxspring.
